Rich Cotruvo— 43-29-2

Rich Cotruvo joined Monte Vista as the head football coach in 1990 and led the Mustangs for seven years. A graduate of St. Mary's, Coach Cotruvo started out coaching freshman football at the now departed Del Valle high in 1978, then moved to Acalanes where he coached for twelve years, the last two as head coach, before coming to the Mustangs. While at Monte Vista, Rich was the Athletic Director as well as the golf team's Coach. The 1992 season for the Mustangs was a memorable one with the Mustangs being ranked #1 in California Division II until the final game of the season. Rich went on to successful tenures as the head coach at Justin-Siena High School (Napa, CA) and Terra Linda High School (San Rafael, CA) before retiring from coaching.
