Comment: Over 6,500 tickets were presold and an estimated 7-10,000 fans filled the stands, surrounded the field and even covered the hillside behind the bleachers to watch the teams led by two star quarterbacks. Keller threw for 346 yards and four touchdowns, but he was topped by Wright’s 372 yards and six touchdowns. Trailing by 27-13 at the half, SRV battled back to take the lead by 44-40 with 40 seconds left in the game on a 7 yard Sam Keller to Mike Jaeger TD pass. Kyle Wright then led the Mustangs up the field – highlighted by a huge Kale Turner reception for 62 yards, and capped by Sam DeSa’s 6-yard TD catch – his fourth of the game - with four seconds left on the clock and a 46-44 Mustang win in hand. The game clinched MV's first EBAL title since 1991. In the three QB matchups to date, the largest margin of victory was 6 points, with the total points scored battle tied 97-97.
