Craig Bergman— 149-81-1

Coach Bergman joined Monte Vista as the head coach in the 1997 season. A graduate of Santa Clara University, Craig was an accomplished college athlete playing quarterback for Santa Clara and the University of Arizona, where he also was a member of U of A's 1988 Final Four basketball team. For five years prior to joining the Mustangs, he was a collegiate assistant coach. In addition to being head football coach, Craig served as a physical education instructor and as the school's athletic director for many years. Coach Bergman's first NCS Championship came in the 2002 season, when the Mustangs thumped a talented rival San Ramon Valley team 35-14 in the Oakland Coliseum. Under Coach Bergman's guidance, the Mustangs were a very successful EBAL program and achieved a number of top fifty rankings for the State of California.
